How do I know what kind of earrings look best for the shape of my face? Do you know how to pick the right earring for your face. Well read on -- we'll try to help you choose your face type. The Oval Face: When shopping for jewelry try the round shapes. Longer earrings are very elegant. Pick earrings that don’t come down longer than your chin. Perhaps choose hoop or triangular earrings. Look for earrings that go from top down to bottom, being larger at the top and smaller at the bottom. This gives you the look that makes your face look wider than it is.
The Round Face: You should be looking for square, oblong, and rectangle shapes. Long earrings work for this face shape really great because they draw the eye down elongated your facial features. Look for long and thinning earrings. Except be careful they aren't so long that they rest on your shoulders. If you have a heavy body (like mine) some long dangling earrings hit my shoulder, so a shorter thinner earring is best.
The Oblong Face: The oblong face has more length than width. Use jewelry to make it seem that it is a little bit shorter and wider. The width of the face at the forehead is the same as the chin and earrings that are short and wide will easily give you that effect. Short Round hoops and short chandelier designs are your best.
The Heart-Shaped Face: Heart shaped faces usually have a wider forehead, making the face seem short and small. Look for earrings that are wider at the bottom than the top. Look for chandelier earrings that form a triangle.
